Visiting Professor of Architecture, Donald I King FAIA is an architect with over 40 years of professional experience in the practice areas of planning, design and project management. He has specialized expertise in the design of community-based projects, human service facilities and multi-family housing. As President and CEO of DKA, Donald was responsible for the firm’s direction, overall management and leadership. Between 1985 and 2015, he led the firm in the planning and design of over 350 impactful projects focused on culturally-responsive design and community building. Prior to earning his Master of Architecture degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, he was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from Wayne State University. Donald is a licensed architect in California, Hawaii and Washington. He has been a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 1979 and was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2000.
Donald is currently a member of the AIA National Board of Directors.
